Urgent Treatment Centre, Runcorn

General introduction

The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Runcorn provides treatment for conditions that require urgent treatment but are not life-threatening including:

  • minor cuts or wounds

  • bites, stings, rashes and allergic reactions

  • minor burns and scalds

  • sprains, strains and joint pains

  • fractures

  • ear or eye injuries and infections

The centre provides diagnostic facilities including an x-ray department and is kite marked by North West Ambulance service, which means that if you call an ambulance but your condition is not life threatening, you may brought to the UTC for treatment rather than to an Emergency Department (Accident and Emergency).

On arrival you will be initially assessed to prioritise the urgency of your care. You will be seen by a doctor or experienced nurse practitioner who will provide your care.

Anyone with a life-threatening emergency should call 999 immediately.
