Useful information

On arrival to Ward A5 Elective, our staff will confirm your personal information, including your next of kin details. Our nursing staff will record your blood pressure, heart rate and temperature, and answer any questions you may have about your surgery.

You will be asked to change into a theatre gown, disposable underwear and embolization stockings (these are used to reduce your risk of blood clots while in hospital).

You will also be reviewed by the anaesthetic doctor and the medical team who will be doing your surgery.

After all the checks have been completed, the theatre staff will arrive to transfer you to theatres when they are ready for you.
