Ward A6 - Trauma and Orthopaedic

General introduction

Ward A6 is an acute trauma and orthopaedic ward that offers holistic care to those requiring post-operative recovery and rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery.

We have 34 beds, four six-bed bays, a four-bed bay, and six main ward cubicles.

How to access this service

Ward A6 accepts orthopaedic and trauma admissions from the Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre and the step-down patients from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

About the team

The Ward A6 team has 55 staff members including a ward manager, nurses, healthcare assistants, nursing associates, trained nursing associates, ward clerk and housekeeping staff. We work closely with trauma nurses, the Therapy Team and Medical Team.
